In this talk, Simon debunked the common myths, and associated pitfalls, that entrepreneurs encounter when fundraising. These misconceptions often result in entrepreneurs wasting time speaking to the wrong investors, or inadvertently presenting their companies as less fundable – under valuing what they offer.
Leveraging insights from Qodeo’s recent research on the VC ecosystem, the session was packed with tips on what VCs are looking for in today’s challenging economic climate, and how regional and diverse entrepreneurs can overcome barriers to entry into seemingly closed VC networks.
Helping entrepreneurs get better funding faster, the session covered topics such as how to map out your raise and identify investors most likely to fund – and fit – you, optimizing your amount sought, creating realistic valuations, understanding how VCs will view your pitch and more.
